Headlight (HI-BEAM) Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front light ECU receives headlight HI switch information from the combination switch, and illuminates the headlights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream generate a control command, and then check that the headlight illuminates.

OK:
Headlight illuminates.

Body No. 2

OK:
Headlight illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT

(a) Remove the headlight.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the headlight connector and check that the headlight illuminates.
OK:

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT AIMING
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT LIGHT ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Remove the front light ECU.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (HEADLIGHT - FRONT LIGHT ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the H5*1 or H7*2 light connector.
HINT:
*1: LH
*2: RH
(b) Remove the front light ECU.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
LH

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
