Front Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front light ECU receives the fog light switch information from the combination switch, and illuminates the fog lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the front fog light relay operates.

OK:
Fog light illuminates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FRONT FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the front fog light.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the front fog light connector and check that the front fog light illuminates.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: FR FOG)




(a) Remove the FR FOG relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the relay.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BODY GROUND)




(a) Remove the front light ECU from the relay block.
(b) Using a service wire, connect the front light ECU terminal 16 (FFOG-RLY) of the engine room No. 2 relay block on the wire harness side and body ground.
(c) Check that the front fog light illuminates.
OK:
Front fog light illuminates.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
