PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM: ADJUSTMENT
ADJUSTMENT
1. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
(a) Depress the parking brake pedal with a force of approximately 300 N (31 kgf, 67.5 lbf) and count the number of clicks.
OK:
7 to 9 clicks (without rear brake dragging)
2. LOOSEN LOCK NUT AND ADJUSTING NUT
(a) Remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.
(b) Loosen the lock nut and adjusting nut.
3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
4. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE Reassembly
5. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
(a) Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
(b) Install the ornament with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
6. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
(a) Turn the adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is correct.
OK:
7 to 9 clicks (without rear brake dragging)
[Pedal depressing force: approximately 300 N (31 kgf, 67.5 lbf)]
(b) Tighten the lock nut.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
(c) Install the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.
