INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Continuously repeating the roof open/close operation may stop the motor operation due to a function of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor. However, this is not a malfunction.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT FUSE (LGG RH)
(a) Remove the LGG RH fuse from the luggage junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR RH)
(a) Remove the luggage door drive gear RH Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the luggage door drive gear RH.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT (ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR RH)
(a) Disconnect the S20 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L18 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
