DTC B1285 - Steering PAD Switch Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is detected when communication between the steering pad switch modulator and network gateway ECU stops for more than 10 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION (STEERING PAD SWITCH)
(a) Check that the steering pad switch can operate the audio system normally.
OK:
Steering pad switch can operate the audio system normally.
OK -- REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE




(a) Disconnect the modulator connector.
(b) Disconnect the D4 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT FUSE (PANEL, SECURITY)
(a) Remove the PANEL and SECURITY fuses from driver side junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuses.
OK:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the modulator connector.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:






Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR
