MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION: MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: B1214: Short to B+ in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction

DTC B1214 - Short to B+ in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction

DTC B1215 - Short to GND in Door System Communication Bus Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

DTC B1214 is detected when +B is short-circuited on the door system communication bus, and DTC B1215 is detected when the body ground is short-circuited on the door system communication bus. Detecting this condition will disable the door system communication bus (BEAN) and a DTC will be output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU




(a) Disconnect the transponder key ECU connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU (IMMOBILIZER ECU)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU (DRIVER SEAT ECU)




(a) Disconnect the position control ECU (driver seat ECU) connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU (DRIVER SEAT ECU)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - DRIVER SEAT ECU)




(a) Disconnect the transponder key ECU and position control ECU (driver seat ECU) connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- CHECK THEFT WARNING ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU RH (FOR PASSENGER SIDE)




(a) Disconnect the multiplex network front door ECU RH connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU RH (FOR PASSENGER SIDE)
A -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DRIVER SEAT ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU RH)




(a) Disconnect the multiplex network front door ECU RH and position control ECU (driver seat ECU) connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ECU)
A -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU - TRANSPONDER KEY ECU)




(a) Disconnect the G3 and T13 ECU connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU RH)




(a) Disconnect the G3 and P9 ECU connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- INSPECT PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK
OK -- REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
8. CHECK THEFT WARNING ECU




(a) Disconnect the theft warning ECU connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - TRANSPONDER KEY ECU)




(a) Disconnect the transponder key ECU and theft warning ECU connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
A -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (FOR DRIVER SIDE)




(a) Disconnect the multiplex network front door ECU LH connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH (FOR DRIVER SIDE)
A -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH)




(a) Disconnect the multiplex network front door ECU LH and theft warning ECU connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THEFT WARNING ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH)
A -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU LH - POSITION CONTROL ECU)
12. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ECU)




(a) Disconnect the position control ECU (passenger seat ECU) connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU (PASSENGER SEAT ECU)
A -- Continue to next step.
13. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DRIVER SEAT ECU - PASSENGER SEAT ECU)




(a) Disconnect the position control ECU (passenger seat ECU) and position control ECU (driver seat ECU) connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
A -- Continue to next step.
14. CHECK SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU




(a) Disconnect the sliding roof control ECU connector and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
A -- Continue to next step.
15. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PASSENGER SEAT ECU - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)




(a) Disconnect the position control ECU (passenger seat ECU) and sliding roof control ECU connectors, and check for DTCs B1214 and B1215.






B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PASSENGER SEAT ECU - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
A -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU - MULTIPLEX NETWORK FRONT DOOR ECU)
16. INSPECT PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK
(a) Disconnect the 3C and 3I connectors from the passenger side junction block.




(b) Measure the resistance of the junction block connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
