DTC B1213 - Tilt and Telescopic ECU Communication Stop

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is detected when communication between the multiplex tilt & telescopic ECU (tilt and telescopic ECU) and network gateway ECU stops for more than 10 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH (OPERATION)
(a) Check that the power tilt and telescopic switch can operate the tilt and telescopic steering column normally.
OK:
Power tilt and telescopic switch can operate the tilt and telescopic steering column normally.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTIPLEX TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the T8 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:






Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE




(a) Disconnect the C11 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the D4 junction block connector.
(c) Disconnect the T8 ECU connector.
(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
B -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU AND REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
A -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT & TELESCOPIC ECU
