WIPER AND WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
(a) Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM LH
(a) Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.
4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM RH
(a) Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.
5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH
(a) Using a clip remover, detach the clips and remove the fender protector upper.
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
9. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
(a) Using a clip remover, disengage the 11 clips.
10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
(a) Pull the cowl side seal in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws and remove the cowl side seal.
11. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER PROTECTOR LH
(a) Remove the clip and cowl top ventilator louver protector LH.
13. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 9 claws.
(c) Remove the cowl top ventilator louver.
14. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connector. Then detach the 2 clamps and remove the wire harness from the cowl top panel.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and wiper motor and link.
HINT: The 3 bolts labeled (A) in the illustration cannot be removed from the wiper motor and link because they are integrated into the wiper motor and link.
15. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR COVER
(a) Remove the wiper motor cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
16. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the rod of the wiper link from the wiper motor as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Place matchmarks on the wiper motor and crank arm.
(c) Remove the nut and crank arm.
(d) Remove the 3 bolts and wiper motor.
