Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the air conditioning system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. INSPECT ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL SYSTEM*
(a) Using the Techstream, check the electric power control system's load control history Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures.

4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
(a) Use the Techstream to check if the LIN communication system is functioning normally.

5. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

6. CHECK FOR DTC* CAN Communication System
(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
(b) Delete the DTC.
(c) Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the A/C system DTC by simulating the operation indicated by the DTC.
