Slip Indicator Light Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communications. The slip indicator light blinks during VSC and/or TR(A)C operation to inform the driver of system operation and when a slip occurs. Also, during TR(A)C OFF mode, VSC OFF mode, or when TR(A)C / VSC operation is disabled, and the slip indicator light illuminates to inform the driver that TR(A)C and VSC operation are disabled. When the system fails, the slip indicator comes on to warn the driver. The slip indicator comes on when traction control is terminated by pressing the VSC OFF switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
When replacing the skid control ECU, perform initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration Programming and Relearning and Programming and Relearning).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC FOR ALL SYSTEM
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result
C -- GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
Meter ECU:
(d) Check that the slip indicator light turns on or off when using the Techstream.
OK:
The slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
HINT: If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part Problem Symptoms Table.
NG -- GO TO METER AND GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
(d) Check that the slip indicator light turns on or off when using the Techstream.
OK:
The slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.
HINT: If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part Problem Symptoms Table.
NG -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.
Center console switch:
(d) Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC OFF switch turns on or off on the Techstream.
OK:
The VSC OFF switch is operated, and the display changes as shown above.
HINT: The procedure above is performed to confirm the condition of the TR(A)C / VSC switch.
NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
(d) Check that the VSC OFF switch turns on or off on the Techstream.
OK:
VSC OFF switch is operated, and the display changes as shown above.
NG -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
OK -- CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
