INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER
(a) Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
(b) Using an oscilloscope, check the signal waveform between each terminal and body ground according to the conditions, as shown in the chart below.
Signal waveform:
NG -- CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER
OK -- REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER
2. CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER
(a) Check if the satellite radio tuner is equipped on the vehicle.
Result
B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - SATELLITE RADIO TUNER AND MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)
(a) Disconnect the L53 receiver connector.
(b) Disconnect the R27 and R29 tuner connectors.
(c) Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK SATELLITE RADIO TUNER (OPERATION)
(a) Replace the satellite radio tuner with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again Removal.
OK:
Same problem does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER
OK -- END (SATELLITE RADIO TUNER IS DEFECTIVE)
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)
(a) Disconnect the L53 receiver connector.
(b) Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER
