DTC B2413 - Headlight Swivel Motor RH Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The swivel motor receives a signal from the AFS ECU to operate and sends a signal indicating the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Perform a visual check of the headlight (swivel actuator) before replacing it.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2412 or B2413 output does not occur.
NG -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SWIVEL MOTOR)
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SWIVEL MOTOR)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

AFS





OK:
Swivel motors operate normally.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - AFS ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the headlight swivel motor with a new or normally functioning one Disassembly.
(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2412 or B2413 output does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU
OK -- END (REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR)
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - AFS ECU)




(a) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT)




(a) Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the B3 and B13 light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

for LH





for RH





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect the B3 and B13 connectors.
(b) Disconnect the swivel motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

for LH





for RH





NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the headlight swivel motor with a new or normally functioning one Disassembly.
(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2412 or B2413 output does not occur.
NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU
OK -- END (REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR)
