Wiper Switch (HI Speed) Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The cowl side junction block ECU LH receives the HI position signal of the wiper switch to operate the wiper motor at HI speed.
Even if the ECU malfunctions, its circuit structure enables it to operate the wiper in HI operation mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH ECU)




(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (COMBINATION SWITCH)




(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH SWITCH - BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the K22 windshield wiper switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)




(a) Disconnect the V2 cowl side junction block LH connector.
(b) Disconnect the K22 windshield wiper switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
