Installation








STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY NO.2
(a) Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly No.2.
2. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 26 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.
(c) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke assembly and power steering link assembly.
(d) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
3. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY NO.2





(a) Connect the steering intermediate shaft assembly No.2 to the steering main shaft.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)





(c) Install the clamp to the steering column hole shield.
4. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)





(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly No.2 and steering sliding yoke sub-assembly.
(b) Temporarily install the bolt.
HINT: Do not tighten the bolt.





(c) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly and the power steering link assembly.





(d) Install bolt (A) and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
5. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY NO.2 (for 4WD)





(a) Align the matchmarks on the intermediate shaft assembly No.2 and the power steering link assembly.





(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
6. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
7. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly with the clamp.
8. INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH





(a) Attach the claw to install the tilt and telescopic switch.
(b) Connect the connector.
9. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER





(a) Attach the 4 clips to install the steering column cover upper onto the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
(b) Attach the claw to install the steering column cover upper.





(c) Attach the 2 claws to install the steering column cover lower.
NOTE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch,

(d) Using a socket wrench (+), install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)
10. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
11. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.
(b) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
12. INSTALL AIR DUCT NO.1
(a) Attach the 2 claws to install the air duct No.1.
13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LOWER NO.1 Installation
14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 Installation
15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 Installation
16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Installation
17. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Installation
18. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation
19. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Installation
20. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation
21. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT Installation
22. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL PAD Installation
23. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
24. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
25. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
26. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
- Make sure that the cable has been disconnected from the battery terminal for at least 2 seconds before reconnecting the cable.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal with the front wheels facing straight ahead.
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
