Removal








ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for 2GR-FSE) Removal
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for 1UR-FSE) Removal
4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER Removal
6. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Cruise Control System) Removal





7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER
(a) Remove the 3 screws.
(b) Detach the claw and remove the cable cover.





8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and remove the protector.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the hood lock control cable.
(b) Remove the cap.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
(d) Remove the hood lock.





10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Detach the 2 claws.
(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock lever.
11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





(b) Pull the cable from the engine room and remove it.
