DTC C1541 - Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU assembly receives vehicle speed signals from the skid control ECU via CAN communication. The ECU provides appropriate assisting force in accordance with the vehicle speed, based on the signals.
If the ECU detects this DTC, it adjusts the amount of power assistance for a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) and continues the system control.

1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT
(a) Check if DTC U0073 or U0121 is output.

NOTE:
DTC U0129 indicates a skid control ECU communication malfunction in the electric power steering system.

A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT
(a) Check for DTCs of the VSC & Electronically Controlled Brake system.

HINT: These DTCs indicate a speed sensor signal malfunction in the VSC & Electronically Controlled Brake system.
NOTE:
If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Electronic Power Steering System.
