Installation








DRIVE SHAFT: REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Coat the spline of the inboard joint shaft with gear oil.
(b) Set the shaft snap ring with the opening side facing downward.






(c) Align the shaft splines and install the drive shaft with a brass bar and hammer.
- Be careful not to damage the drive shaft dust cover, boot and oil seal.
- Move the drive shaft while keeping it level.
HINT: Whether the inboard joint shaft is in contact with the pinion shaft or not can be checked from the sound or feeling when driving it in.

2. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

3. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the rear drive shaft to the rear axle assembly.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the drive shaft boot.

4. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

5. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

6. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

7. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

8. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH

9. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

10. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH

11. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Installation

12. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

13. CONNECT REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH Installation

15. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Coil Suspension) Installation

17. TEMPORARILY CONNECT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Air Suspension) Installation

19. CONNECT REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH Installation

21. INSTALL PARKING CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET






(a) Install the parking brake anchor block and parking cable support bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 76 Nm (775 kgf-cm, 56 ft-lbf)
22. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE Reassembly

23. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER Reassembly

24. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY Reassembly

25. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY Reassembly

26. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET Reassembly

27. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING Reassembly

28. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING Reassembly

29. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION Reassembly

30. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH Installation

32. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS Rear Axle Hub

33. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT Rear Axle Hub

34. INSTALL REAR DISC Reassembly

35. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE Adjustments

36. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG
37. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

38. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

39. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH






(a) Install the rear speed sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
40. INSTALL PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE (for RH Side) Installation

41. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

42. STAKE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH Installation

50. CONNECT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Air Suspension) Installation

52. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE LH






(a) Install the rear suspension member brace with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
53. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE RH






(a) Install the rear suspension member brace with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)
54. INSTALL NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR






(a) Install the support protector with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
55. INSTALL NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR






(a) Install the support protector with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
56. CONNECT LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET LH






(a) Connect the sensor bracket with the bolt.
Torque: 3.6 to 6.9 Nm (37 to 70 kgf-cm, 32 to 61 in-lbf)
57. CONNECT LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET RH (w/ Air Suspension)
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

58. INSTALL REAR WHEEL Installation

59. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
60. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation

61. PERFORM PARKING BRAKE SHOE BEDDING
(a) Perform parking brake shoe bedding Programming and Relearning.
62. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

63. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM (for Air Suspension)
(a) Check the suspension control system Adjustments.
64. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment Rear Wheel Alignment.
65. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
66. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Adjust the headlight Adjustments.
67. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Adjust the object recognition camera Adjustments.
