POWER STEERING: STEERING GEAR (w/ VGRS): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the power steering link and rack housing bracket to the front frame with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.
Torque: 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the 5 connectors and attach the 3 clips.





2. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Connect the tie rod LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.
Torque: 60 Nm (612 kgf-cm, 44 ft-lbf)
(b) Install a new clip.
3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

4. CONNECT STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Installation

7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Service and Repair

8. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Installation

11. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

13. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM
(a) Check suspension control system Adjustments.
14. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust front wheel alignment Front Wheel Alignment.
15. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING
(a) Adjust headlight aiming Adjustments.
16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
17. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA
(a) Adjust object recognition camera Adjustments.
18. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT
(a) Initialize rotation angle sensor and calibrate torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.
19. PERFORM VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION
(a) Perform variable gear ratio steering system calibration Variable Gear Ratio Steering System.
