Removal








PARKING BRAKE LEVER:

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat) Removal

5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

9. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

11. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

17. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR REAR UPPER SUB PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Turn back the floor carpet in order to remove the front floor rear upper sub panel.
(b) Disengage the 6 clamps.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and front floor rear upper sub panel.
19. REMOVE FLOOR PANEL BRACE REAR NO.1 Removal

20. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE Removal

21. DISCONNECT OXYGEN SENSOR Removal

22. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

23. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR Removal

24. REMOVE AIR GUIDE PLATE OUTSIDE RH Removal

25. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY Removal

26. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the parking brake return with damper spring.






(b) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the 2 No. 2 parking brake cable assemblies from the parking brake equalizer.






(c) Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration.






(d) Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.






(e) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No.1parking brake cable assembly.






(f) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.






(g) Remove the 2 bolts and parking brake lever.






(h) Pull up the parking brake lever claw.
(i) Remove the lock nut and No. 1 wire adjusting nut of the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake lever.
(j) Remove the clip and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake lever.
