DTC B2418 - Headlight Beam Level Control Motor RH Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The leveling actuator (headlight leveling motor) receives a signal from the AFS ECU to operate. The AFS ECU receives signals regarding the operating conditions of the leveling actuator (headlight leveling motor).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Active Test.
(e) Check the operation.
AFS (AFS ECU)
OK:
Headlight leveling motor is operated.
Result:
C -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - AFS ECU)
B -- REPLACE AFS ECU
A -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - AFS ECU)
(a) Disconnect the B12 and B2 headlight assembly connectors.
(b) Disconnect the A28 AFS ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
LH Side (B2417)
RH Side (B2418)
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)
(a) Disconnect the headlight leveling motor connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
LH Side
RH Side
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR (LH AND/OR RH)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
RH Side (B2418)
LH Side (B2417)
NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH OR HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- REPLACE AFS ECU
