PARKING BRAKE PEDAL:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL PARKING PEDAL PAD

(a) Engage the claw and install the parking pedal pad on the parking brake pedal.
2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake pedal and hold the cable with the clip.
HINT: Fully tighten the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and lock nut when adjusting the parking brake pedal free play.

(b) Fully bend the parking brake pedal claw.

(c) Temporarily install the parking brake pedal by loosely tightening the 3 nuts.
(d) Fully tighten the 3 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
(e) Connect the parking brake switch connector.

(f) Install the instrument panel junction block assembly with the 2 nuts.
(g) Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to the body with the 3 nuts and 2 bolts.
Nut - Torque: 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)
Bolt - Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(h) Install the parking brake equalizer to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

(i) Slide the rubber boot back as shown in the illustration.

(j) Connect the 2 No. 2 parking brake cable assemblies to the parking brake equalizer.
(k) Install the 2 No. 2 parking brake cable assemblies with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)

(l) Install the parking brake return with damper spring.
3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(h) Install the parking brake equalizer to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

(i) Slide the rubber boot back as shown in the illustration.

(l) Install the parking brake return with damper spring.
4. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FLOOR REAR SUB PANEL

(a) Install the front floor rear upper sub panel with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
(b) Engage the 6 clamps.
5. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 3 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD
(a) Install the No. 3 dash panel insulator pad.
7. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE) Installation.

8. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 4GR-FSE) Installation.

9. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Installation.

10. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR AIR DUCT Installation

11. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD (for 2WD)
(a) Install the front floor silencer pad.
12. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL (for 2WD) Installation.

13. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Installation

14. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

15. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

16. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH Installation

17. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX Installation

18. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY Installation

19. INSTALL FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY Installation

20. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

21. INSTALL NO. 1 UPPER CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH Installation

22. INSTALL NO. 2 UPPER CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH Installation

23. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the shift knob clockwise and install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
24. INSTALL CENTER LOWER PILLAR GARNISH LH Installation

25. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation

26. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation

27. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Installation

28. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Installation.

29. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Installation

30. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) Installation.

31. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat) Installation.

32. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

33. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL Adjustments

34. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL Adjustments

35. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT Diagnosis System.

36. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) Installation

37. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
