CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM:

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. CAN BUS CHECK
(a) Using Techstream, select "CAN Bus Check" from the "System Select"
2. CHECK FOR INSTALLED SYSTEMS (ECUS AND SENSORS) THAT ADOPT CAN COMMUNICATION
(a) Systems (ECUs, sensors) that adopt CAN communication vary depending on the vehicle's optional settings. Check which systems (ECUs, sensors) are installed on the vehicle.

3. DTC TABLE BY ECU
HINT:
- In the CAN communication system, CAN communication system DTCs can be displayed by the ECU using Techstream.
- If CAN communication system DTCs are output, trouble cannot be determined only by the DTCs. Perform troubleshooting according to "HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING". How to Proceed With Troubleshooting

(a) ECM
HINT:
- DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.
- Distance control ECU data is also output.

- *1: If only DTC U0101 is output, refer to SFI system U0101.
- *2 : If U0235 or U1102 is output alone from the ECUs, the CAN communication is normal [1][2]Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Systemfor U0235, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System for U1102).
- *3: This DTC is output only for vehicles with the dynamic radar cruise control system.

(b) SKID CONTROL ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(d) GATEWAY ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(e) MAIN BODY ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(f) AFS ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(g) SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(h) MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU
HINT: DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.

(i) CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR
HINT: The center airbag sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(j) STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
HINT: The steering angle sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(k) YAW RATE SENSOR
HINT: The yaw rate sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(l) OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU
HINT: The outer mirror control ECU sensor is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(m) CERTIFICATION ECU
HINT: The certification ECU is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(n) MULTI-DISPLAY
HINT: The multi-display is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(o) CLEARANCE WARNING ECU
HINT: The clearance warning ECU is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(p) SEAT POSITION CONTROL ECU (FRONT LH SIDE)
HINT: The seat position control ECU (front LH side) is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

(q) SEAT POSITION CONTROL ECU (FRONT RH SIDE)
HINT: The seat position control ECU (front RH side) is connected to the CAN communication system, but CAN communication DTCs are not output.

4. DTC COMBINATION TABLE
(a) CAN No. 1 Bus

HINT:
- o: Set
- X: Not set or may be set according to the malfunctioning part when one side of the CAN bus wire opens
- :a Set under the condition shown in the table above
