DTC P0983 SHIFT SOLENOID "D" CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S4)CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC Detection Condition:
Shift solenoid valve S4 is controlled by the ECM and it turns the O/D direct clutch ON and OFF.
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
Monitor Strategy:
Typical Enabling Conditions:
Typical Malfunction Thresholds:
Component Operating Range:
The ECM controls gear shift by turning the shift solenoid valves ON/OFF. When an open or short circuit in a shift solenoid valve circuit is detected by the ECM, it will illuminate the MIL and store the DTC. Then the ECM performs the fail-safe function and turns the properly functioning shift solenoid valves ON/OFF. In case of an open or short circuit, the ECM stops sending current to the circuit.
