Carpet: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT
3. REMOVE FRONT SCUFF PLATE
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
4. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the assist grip.
b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
6. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM
a. Remove the clip.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the front seat outer belt guide.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
d. Pass a screwdriver, between the body and quarter trim to pry it loose.
e. Remove the quarter trim.
f. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT GUIDE
a. Remove the guide as shown in the illustration.
b. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
8. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.
c. Using a screwdriver, open the seat belt shoulder anchor cover.
d. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor cover.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
e. Remove the 4 screws.
f. Pass a screwdriver the body and inner garnish to pry it loose.
g. Remove the inner garnish.
h. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
9. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB
a. Slide the shaft collar downward.
b. Remove the 2 screws and knob.
10. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL REAR
a. Open the ash tray lid.
b. Lift the console panel toward you as shown.
c. Pass your finger in the shift lever groove and pull the console panel upward away from you.
d. Remove the panel.
11. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL
a. Open the cup holder lid and pull up the holder.
NOTE: Do not pull the lid.
b. Remove the 6 screws and pry out of the upper console panel.
c. Remove the cup holder from upper console panel.
12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
a. Remove the box bottom mat.
b. Remove the 3 bolts, 5 screws and console box.
c. Remove the 3 screws and console compartment door.
d. Remove the rear console lower box.
13. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET
a. Using a clip remover, remove the clips.
b. Remove the front seat belt lower bolt.
Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
c. Driver's side:
Raise the end of the carpet and disconnect the hook.
d. Passenger's side:
Raise the end of the carpet and disconnect the hook.
e. Slide the carpet backward and remove it.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
