Removal and Installation

NOTICE:
- If the wiring connector of the supplemental restraint system is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, diagnostic trouble codes will be recorded.
- Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing part8, replace with new parts.





1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
a. Using a screwdriver, pry out the front side of the clip.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Using a clip remover, remove the scuff plate.





2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
a. Using the screwdriver, pry out the rear side of the clip.
b. Using the clip remover, remove the scuff plate.





3. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH
- Using the screwdriver, remove the 6 clips and the garnish.





4. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER
- Using the screwdriver, pry out the 4 covers.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT
a. Remove the 4 bolts.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the front seat with the seat belt.





6. REMOVE POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using the screwdriver, remove the slide knob.
b. Using the screwdriver, remove the reclining knob.





7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
a. Remove the 5 screws.
b. Disconnect the connector.





c. Remove the 2 screws and the seat belt guide.
d. Remove the shield.





8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT

NOTICE: When removing the front seat outer belt, take care not to pull the seat belt pretensloner wire harness.

CAUTION: Never disassemble the front seat outer belt.

a. Remove the nut and the seat belt anchor.





b. Using the screwdriver, pry out the shoulder anchor cover.
c. Remove the front seat belt shoulder anchor bolt.





d. Disconnect the connectors.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and the retractor.
f. Remove the front seat outer belt.
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT
Install the front seat belt parts by following removal sequence in reverse and torque the following bolts.
a. Seat belt shoulder anchor bolt

Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf cm, 32 ft lb)

b. Front seat outer belt Retractor

Upper bolt
Torque: 19 Nm (196 kgf cm, 14 ft lb)
Lower bolt
Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf cm. 32 ft lb)
Front seat
Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf cm. 32 ft lb)





HINT: After installing the anchor bolt, check that the anchor turns smoothly.
