Removal





2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly Removal.

3. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system Service Precautions.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

8. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

10. REMOVE BATTERY Removal

11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

(a) Separate the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.





(b) Separate the vacuum hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.





(c) Separate the vacuum hose from the hose clamp.

(d) Separate the vacuum switching valve connector and 2 wire harness clamps.





(e) Separate the 2 vacuum hoses.





(f) Separate the ventilation hose and the fuel vapor feed hose.

(g) Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner hose from the throttle body.

(h) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the air cleaner assembly.





12. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

(a) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body.





(b) Disconnect the throttle body connector and wire harness clamp.





(c) Remove the 4 bolts, throttle body and wire harness clamp stay.

(d) Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.
