Vibration Damper - Installation






INSTALLATION






CAUTION: To prevent severe damage to the crankshaft, damper, and damper installer 8512A, thoroughly clean the damper bore and the crankshaft nose before installing damper.

1. Position the damper onto the crankshaft.
2. Assemble the damper installer 8512A (2) and the A/C hub installer cup 6871 (1).





3. Using the damper installer 8512A (2) and the A/C hub installer cup 6871 (1), press the damper onto the crankshaft.
4. Coat the vibration damper bolt threads with Mopar (R) Nickel Anti-Seize or equivalent, install and tighten the bolt to 175 Nm (130 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the cooling fan assembly Cooling Fan - Installation
6. Install the radiator upper shroud and tighten fasteners to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.).
7. Install the radiator upper hose.
8. Install the accessory drive belt Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation
9. Refill the cooling system Service and Repair
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
