C1: RETRIEVE DTCS
NOTE: Battery and or ECM disconnection prior to scanning will erase all data, ensure that the correct DTC is present.
Connect scan tool.
Record DTC(s), freeze frame data and go to C2
C2 : CHECK CCV RESISTANCE
With CV001 disconnected, measure resistance of CCV coil at pins 1 and 2.
Is resistance between 25 and 40 Ohms?
Yes
Reconnect CV001
Go to C3
No
Renew CCV
C3: CHECK ELECTRICAL FEED
NOTE: The engine will NOT start if F14 or relay 1 is at fault.
With CV001 disconnected, measure the voltage at harness pin 2 with respect to ground (EM010/022).
B+ ?
Yes
Go to C4
No
Check fuse F14 and that EMS relay 1 is energised.
Repair as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
C4: CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+
With EM013 and CV001 disconnected, measure the voltage between EM013/004 and vehicle ground EM010/022.
< 1 V ?
Yes
Go to C5
No
Inspect harness / connectors EM013 and CV001 for bent / pushed back pins, damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
C5: CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY
With CV001 and EM013 disconnected, measure resistance between EM013/004 and CV001/002.
Is the resistance < 0.5 Ohms?
Yes
Go to C6
No
Inspect harness / connectors EM013, EM002, FC001 and CV001 for damage, corrosion, bent / pushed back pins. Repair as necessary and test the system for normal operation
C6: CHECK FOR SHORT TO GROUND
With EM013 and CV001 disconnected, measure the insulation resistance between EM013/004 and ground EM010/022.
Is the resistance > 10 M Ohms?
Yes
Reconnect EM010
Go to C7
No
Inspect harness / connectors EM013, EM002, FC001 and CV001 for damage, corrosion, bent / pushed back pins. Repair as necessary and test the system for normal operation.
C7: END
Perform appropriate service drive cycle and check for the presence of DTC.
Has the fault code cleared?
Yes
STOP
No
