HORN FUNCTION

Description

Perform answer-back for each operation with horn.


Component Function Check


1. CHECK FUNCTION

1.Select "VEHICLE SECURITY HORN" in "ACTIVE TEST" mode with CONSULT.
2.Check the horn (high/low) operation.





Is the operation normal?
YES- Horn function is OK.
NO- Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" .


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK HORN SWITCH

Check horn function with horn switch
Do the horns sound?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Refer to "Wiring Diagram HORN -" [1][2]Electrical Diagrams.

2. CHECK IPDM E/R POWER SUPPLY

1.Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
2.Check voltage between malfunctioning IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
NO- GO TO 3.

3. CHECK IPDM E/R POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and horn relay connector.
3.Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and malfunctioning horn relay harness connector.





4.Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- Repair or replace harness.

4. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
Is the inspection result normal?
