Removal and Installation


REMOVAL
1. Remove brake master cylinder cover, battery cover, and hood ledge cover (LH and RH). Exploded View.
2. Use a refrigerant collecting equipment to discharge the refrigerant. Recycle Refrigerant.
3. Remove engine under cover. Service and Repair.
4. Drain engine coolant from radiator.
- VQ engine models: Draining.
- VK engine models: Draining.
5. Remove air duct (inlet) assembly.
- VQ engine models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine models: Removal And Installation.
6. Remove front bumper fascia, energy absorber, and reinforcement. Removal And Installation.
7. Remove front combination lamp (LH and RH). Removal And Installation Xenon Type.
8. Remove head lamp bracket.
1. Disconnect harness connector of Intelligent Key warning buzzer.
2. Remove mounting bolts and remove head lamp bracket.
9. Remove washer tank. Removal And Installation.
10. Remove mounting bolts and remove hood lock bracket (LH and RH).
1. Remove hood lock control cable (front) fixing clips from hood lock support stay and condenser upper bracket. Hood Lock.
2. Remove hood lock control cable (front) from tube clip of front bumper upper retainer. Hood Lock
3. Remove hood lock bracket mounting bolts.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly (VK engine models only). Removal And Installation.





5. Disconnect harness connector (A), and then remove hood lock switch harness connector (B) from vehicle.

6. Move hood lock bracket to a location where it does not inhibit work.
11. Remove horn (HIGH and LOW). Removal And Installation.
12. Disconnect harness connector of refrigerant pressure sensor. Service and Repair.
13. Disconnect harness connector of exhaust gas/outside odor sensor. Service and Repair, "Removal and
Installation".
14. Disconnect harness connector of ambient sensor. Service and Repair.
15. Remove ICC sensor integrated unit (with intelligent cruse control model). Exploded View Removal And Installation, "Removal
and Installation".





16. Move power steering oil cooler to a location where it does not inhibit work.
1. Remove under side cover RH. Exploded View Removal And Installation, "FENDER
PROTECTOR : Exploded View".
2. Remove mounting bolts (A) and remove power steering oil cooler (1).
3. Remove power steering oil cooler as show in the figure.

17. Remove condenser pipe assembly. Condenser Pipe Assembly Removal And Installation.
18. Remove radiator reservoir tank.
- VQ engine models: Exploded View.
- VK engine models: Exploded View.
19. Remove radiator hose (upper) and radiator hose (lower) at radiator side.
- VQ engine models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine models: Removal And Installation.
20. Disconnect AT fluid cooler hose (A and B) from fan shroud and remove AT fluid cooler hose (A and B) from radiator.
- VQ engine (2WD) models: Removal And Installation.
- VQ engine (AWD) models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine (2WD) models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine (AWD) models: Removal And Installation.
21. Disconnect harness connector of cooling fan control modules.
- VQ engine models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine models: Removal And Installation.
22. Disconnect harness connector of crash zone sensor. Removal And Installation.
23. Remove harness fixing clips from the following components.
- Front bumper upper retainer
- Hood lock support stay
- Cooling fan assembly
- Radiator core support assembly
24. Remove mounting bolts, and then remove radiator core support assembly.

CAUTION:
Operate with two workers, because of its heavy weight.
25. Remove the following parts after removing radiator core support assembly.
- Front bumper upper retainer
- Front bumper side retainer (LH and RH)
- Hood lock support stay
- condenser assembly: Removal And Installation.
- Crash zone sensor: Removal And Installation.
- Cooling fan assembly
- VQ engine models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine models: Removal And Installation.
- Remove radiator.
- VQ engine models: Removal And Installation.
- VK engine models: Removal And Installation.
- Condenser side seal upper and lower

INSTALLATION
Note the following item, and install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- Replenish the following parts.
- Refrigerant: Charge Refrigerant.
- Engine coolant (VQ engine models): Refilling.
- Engine coolant (VK engine models): Refilling.
- AT fluid: Changing.
- Power steering oil: Service and Repair.
- Adjust the following parts.
- Front combination lamp: Aiming Adjustment Procedure Xenon Type.
- ICC sensor integrated unit (with intelligent cruse control model): Description.
