Removal and Replacement




Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

Caution: DO NOT for any reason, insert a screwdriver or other small hand tools into the throttle body to hold open the throttle plate, as the wedge inside the throttle body could be damaged.




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the throttle body.




3. Remove the throttle body bolts (538) and nuts (507).
4. Remove the throttle body (508).
5. Remove and discard the throttle body seal (509).

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW throttle body gasket (509).
2. Install the throttle body (508).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the throttle body bolts (538) and nuts (507).

Tighten the bolts/nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the throttle body.
5. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Perform the throttle learn procedure. Refer to Throttle/Idle Learn (Programming and Relearning).
