Secondary Air Injection Check Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement) .
3. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet hose quick connect fitting from the AIR check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .




4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the AIR check valve.




5. Remove the AIR check valve studs (3).
6. Remove the AIR check valve (2) and gasket (1). Discard the gasket.



Installation Procedure





1. Place a NEW AIR check valve gasket (1) between the engine and the valve.
2. Position the AIR check valve (2) to the engine.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the AIR check valve studs (3).

Tighten to studs to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the AIR check valve.




5. Connect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting to the AIR check valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement) .
7. Close the hood.
