Pinpoint Test B: All Passenger Power Windows are Inoperative - SE, SEL
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
Under normal operation, the LH rear, RH rear and RH front window control switches receive low current power through circuit CPW14 (VT/WH) when the LH front window control switch is in the UNLOCK position. High current power is supplied to the LH rear, RH rear and RH front window control switches through circuit CBP47 (GN/BU).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Circuit breaker
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- LH front window control switch
PINPOINT TEST B : ALL PASSENGER POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE - SE, SEL
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
B1 CHECK PASSENGER WINDOW OPERATION FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
NOTE: Make sure the LH front window control switch is in the UNLOCK position.
- Ignition ON.
- Attempt to operate the passenger windows from the LH front window control switch.
Do the passenger windows operate from the LH front window control switch?
Yes
GO to B2.
No
VERIFY Smart Junction Box (SJB) circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit CBP47 (GN/BU) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation. If not OK, Refer to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. Diagrams By Number
B2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504.
- Carry out the LH front window control switch component test.
Did the LH front window control switch pass the component test?
Yes
REPAIR open in circuit CPW14 (VT/WH). TEST the system for normal operation.
No
INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
