B-Pillar Trim Panel

Removal and Installation

Upper and lower trim panels

1. Position the front seat forward.

2. Remove the front and rear door scuff plate trim panels. For additional information, refer to Scuff Plate Trim Panel- Front Scuff Plate Trim Panel - Front or Scuff Plate Trim Panel- Rear Scuff Plate Trim Panel - Rear.

3. Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.
- Using slight pressure, position the outer edges of the B-pillar away from the front and rear door opening weatherstrips.

- Pull the lower B-pillar trim panel toward the center of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.

- Lift the B-pillar upward to release the lower retaining clips.

4. Depower the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). For additional information, refer to Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

5. Remove the front safety belt anchor-to-seat bolt cover.
- Lift the top of the cover upward.






6. Remove the front safety belt anchor-to-seat bolt.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).






7. NOTE: Passenger seat only.
Disconnect the safety Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) electrical connector.






8. Remove the B-pillar trim panel screw.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).






9. Feed the safety belt through the upper B-pillar trim panel and remove the B-pillar trim panel.

10. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the B-pillar trim panels, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the B-pillar trim panel before installing.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
