Bumper Cover - Rear

Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the 4 rear bumper cover pin-type retainers.

3. Remove the wheel well to bumper cover screws (4 each side).

4. Reposition the trunk trim panel and remove the rear bumper cover nuts.

5. Disconnect the rear bumper cover electrical connector.

6. Pull outward and downward on the forward upper portion of the bumper cover to un-clip the bumper cover from the bumper cover mounting brackets.

7. Pull upward beneath the tail lamps to release the bumper cover upper clips.

8. Inspect the bumper cover mounting brackets for damage at the attaching points. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements before installation.

9. NOTE: Inspect the lower back sheet metal for distortion.
Pull outward to remove the bumper cover from the vehicle.


10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
