REFER to Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) .
If the engine MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) request message is missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) to its last state (on or off) based upon the last known good message received.
If the engine MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) request message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the BCM (Body Control Module) and the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) set DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00. If the engine MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) request message is missing, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) on.
Pinpoint Test
