Diagnostic Overview
U0126:00
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 42 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
With the ignition ON, the SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) sends messages to the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module over the HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network). If the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame (less than 1 second), the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module sets DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). For information on the messages sent to the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module by the SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module), REFER to Network Message Chart .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.
Does the SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) pass the network test?
2. CHECK THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.
3. Clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
4. Ignition OFF.
5. Ignition ON.
6. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.
7. Retrieve and record the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0126:00 retrieved again?
3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) SELF-TEST
1. Check the recorded DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?
4. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, carry out the SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:62 present?
5. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0126:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
3. Retrieve the CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0126:00 set in the BCM (Body Control Module) or in the PSCM (Power Steering Control Module)?
