Pinpoint Test

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

1. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPM-B (Image Processing Module - B) AND APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform IPM-B (Image Processing Module - B) and APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) self-tests.

2. Check the IPM-B (Image Processing Module - B) and APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the self-test.

Are any IPM-B (Image Processing Module - B) or APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) retrieved?

2. VERIFY AND ENABLE THE INOPERATIVE VIDEO CAMERA FEATURE

1. Identify the inoperative video camera feature (fixed guidelines, active guidelines, visual park alert, manual zoom or video camera delay).

2. Verify and enable the inoperative video camera feature within the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module).

Does the video camera feature operate correctly?

3. CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector. Make sure it seats correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?

4. CHECK FOR CORRECT VIDEO CAMERA OPERATION
