Engine Ignition
Engine Ignition
The Electronic Ignition (EI) system consists of the:
- ignition coil
- spark plug wires
- spark plugs
The ignition coil is controlled by the PCM and fires 2 spark plugs simultaneously.
The spark plug wires carry high voltage pulses from the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
The spark plug ignites the fuel and air mixture.
