Air Bag Deactivation Indicator: Service and Repair

Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Indicator

NOTE: The Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) indicator is a replaceable 14V bulb integrated into the overhead console.

1. NOTE: The ignition must be OFF if disconnecting the PAD indicator electrical connector. Otherwise, a DTC will be set in the Restraints Control Module (RCM) memory and must be cleared before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

Turn the ignition OFF and wait at least one minute.

2. Pull downward to release the 2 tabs and detach the overhead console from the headliner.

3. Remove the PAD indicator bulb.
- If equipped with an intrusion and inclination sensor, remove the cover and 2 screws. For additional information, refer to Antitheft and Alarm Systems.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
