Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)

Removal and Installation

NOTE: If installing a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.

1. If installing a new IPC, it is necessary to upload the IPC configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

2. Lower the steering column to the lowest position.

3. NOTE: The IPC finish panel is held in place with retaining clips that are attached to the bezel.

Pull the IPC finish panel straight out to release the retainers and remove the finish panel.

4. Remove the 2 screws and pull the IPC straight out to release the retainers at the bottom of the IPC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

5. If necessary, push the retainers in from the back of the IPC to assist in releasing them.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- If a new IPC was installed, download the IPC configuration information from the scan tool into the new IPC. For additional information, refer to Information Bus.

7. NOTE: If a new IPC is installed, the IPC and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the IPC and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the IPC and the PCM can result in a no start condition. Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset
