Seat Cushion Heater Mat

Removal

NOTICE: Do not reinstall any heater mat or foam pad after removal. The adhesive will not adhere correctly to the foam pad, causing it to bunch up or shift out of place. A new heater mat and a new foam pad must be installed. Failure to follow these instructions can result in heated seat component damage and system failure.

NOTICE: Do not install a new heater mat on a front passenger seat cushion. Install a new Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system service kit. Failure to follow this instruction can cause incorrect OCS system operation. Refer to Restraint Systems for the Occupant Classification Sensor Removal and Installation procedure.

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Front Seat - Exploded View, Front.

1. Remove the seat cushion cover. For additional information, refer to Seat Cushion Cover - Front Seat Cushion Cover - Front.

2. Disconnect the cushion heater mat electrical connector.
- Note wire harness routing for correct installation.

3. Remove and discard the cushion foam pad and heater mat.

Installation

1. Install a new cushion foam pad to the cushion frame.

2. NOTE: Install the new heater mat straight on the foam pad and without any wrinkles that may show through the backrest cover after installation.

Install the heater mat to the foam pad.

- Remove the paper strips from the new heater mat.

- Align the heater mat square to the cushion foam pad.

- Apply the heater mat flat on the foam pad surface without any wrinkles and correctly tuck into the valley of the foam pad.

3. Route the seat cushion heater mat wire harness as noted in removal and connect the electrical connector.
