Removal and Installation

NOTE: Coupe LH 50 percent backrest shown, RH 50 percent backrest similar.

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to Seat Cushion - Rear Removal and Replacement.

2. For coupe vehicles, remove the bolt, pull the strap to pivot the backrest down, slide the backrest out of the backrest pivot bracket and remove the LH backrest.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

3. For vehicles with a convertible top, remove the 2 backrest bolts at the bottom, slide the backrest up, disengaging the hooks, and remove the backrest.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

4. NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
