Antenna Cable
Removal and Installation
NOTE: This procedure only applies to the rear AM/FM and satellite radio antenna cables. The front AM/FM and satellite radio antenna cables are only serviceable by cutting the ends off the existing component and overlaying a new component on the wiring harness. The existing ends must be secured to prevent NVH concerns.
All vehicles
1. Remove the RH front and RH rear door scuff plates.
2. Disconnect the front antenna cable-to-rear antenna cable in-line connection at the RH kick panel.
3. Remove the RH C-pillar trim panel.
AM/FM antenna - MKZ
4. Disconnect the rear antenna cable from the antenna module.
AM/FM antenna - Fusion/Milan, satellite radio antenna cable - all vehicles
5. Remove the LH and RH assist handles.
6. Remove the LH C-pillar trim panel.
7. Loosen the antenna cable bolt and disconnect the cable from the antenna.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
All vehicles
8. Cut the ends of the existing co-axial cable(s).
9. Remove the enable circuit.
1. Disconnect C237 at the RH kick panel.
2. Remove the pin retainer from the inside of the male side of the connector by pulling it straight out with pliers.
3. Using a suitable tool such as a straight pick, release the locking tab and remove the enable circuit CME44 (BU) from C237-25.
4. Cut the existing circuit end and secure it with electrical tape.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
