Normal Operation
The HS-CAN uses an unshielded twisted pair cable, circuits 1847 (WH/OG) and 1848 (PK/OG). The powertrain control module (PCM), instrument cluster, and the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module all communicate with the scan tool using the HS-CAN.

DTC U0002 (Instrument Cluster) - sets when the HS-CAN bus performance is compromised.

DTC U1900 (Instrument Cluster) - sets when there is a general CAN bus failure and the instrument cluster is not receiving CAN messages.

DTC U1900 (ABS module) - sets when there is a general CAN bus failure and the ABS module is not receiving CAN messages.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 1847 (WH/OG) open, short to ground or voltage (HS-CAN +)
- Circuit 1848 (PK/OG) open, short to ground or voltage (HS-CAN -)
- Circuit 1847 (WH/OG) (HS-CAN +) and circuit 1848 (PK/OG) (HS-CAN -) shorted together
- PCM
- ABS module
- Instrument cluster
