Normal Operation
The theft warning indicator receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) fuse 33 (15A) through circuit 385 (RD/WH). The circuit continues from the instrument cluster through circuit 343 (DB/LG) to the powertrain control module (PCM) which provides a ground path to illuminate the indicator when required. The indicator will prove out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to run or start under normal operation. If there is a PATS problem, this indicator will either flash rapidly or glow steadily when the ignition switch is turned to run or start. The PATS system also flashes the theft indicator every 2 seconds at ignition off to act as a visual deterrent.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 343 (DB/LG) open or short to ground
- Circuit 385 (WH/RD) open
- PCM
- Instrument cluster
