Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Cylinder head flatness must be within 0.0254 mm (0.001 inch) across a 38.1 mm (1.5 inch) square area.

Cylinder head bolts
The cylinder head bolts must be discarded and new bolts must be installed. They are tighten-to-yield designed and cannot be reused.

Stage 1: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
Stage 3: 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
Stage 4: additional 90 degrees
Stage 5: additional 90 degrees

Camshaft bearing cap bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)

Camshaft drive sprocket bolts
Stage 1: 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
Stage 2: additional 90 degrees

Intake manifold assembly bolts 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
