Normal Operation
When the headlamp switch is placed in the headlamps ON position, voltage is routed to the multifunction switch through circuit 15 (RD/YE). The multifunction switch then routes the voltage to the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit 13 (RD/BK) (low beams) or circuit 1709 (BN) (high beams). The SJB then routes the voltage to the headlamps through circuit 160 (DB/WH) (LH low beam), circuit 161 (DG/OG) (RH low beam), or circuit 12 (LG/BK) (high beams).
Possible Causes
- Circuit 12 (LG/BK) short to voltage
- Circuit 13 (RD/BK) short to voltage
- Circuit 15 (RD/YE) short to voltage
- Circuit 160 (DB/WH) short to voltage
- Circuit 161 (DG/OG) short to voltage
- Circuit 1709 (BN) short to voltage
- Headlamp switch
