Test A: No Communication With the Instrument Cluster
PINPOINT TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTERA1-A2:
Normal Operation
The instrument cluster communicates interactively with other electronic modules using the controller area network (CAN). With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) fuse 32 (10A) through circuit 640 (RD/YE). When the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position, voltage is received from the SJB fuse 22 (15A) through circuit 1002 (BK/PK). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive voltage from the SJB fuse 33 (15A) through circuit 385 (WH/RD). The instrument cluster is grounded through circuit 651 (BK/YE) and circuit 57 (BK).
Possible Causes
- fuse(s)
- circuit 57 (BK) open
- circuit 385 (WH/RD) open
- circuit 640 (RD/YE) open
- circuit 1002 (BK/PK) open
- circuit 651 (BK/YE) open
