Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization

ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION

CAUTION: Make sure there are no obstructions present in the roof opening panel when carrying out this procedure.

NOTE:
- A new roof opening panel motor must be initialized after installation. The roof opening panel motor only moves toward the full-open position if in the slide range until the roof opening panel motor is initialized.
- This procedure must be carried out when repairs are made on any part of the roof opening panel system. This includes when a new roof opening panel motor is installed, or a new roof opening panel assembly is installed.

1. If disconnected, connect the overhead console wiring harness electrical connector to enable the use of the roof opening panel switch.
2. Place the ignition in the ON position.
3. If a new roof opening panel motor was installed, press and hold the open switch while the roof opening panel opens past the full open position and suddenly back to the complete full open position.
4. If the new roof opening panel motor was not installed, use the roof opening panel switch to open the roof opening panel to the full open position.
- Press and hold the switch for approximately 10 seconds until the roof opening panel moves past full open and suddenly back to the complete full open position.

5. Release the roof opening panel switch and test the system for normal operation by checking the one-touch open, close, and tilt operations.
